Creating the Lab of the Future: A Shift Toward Greater Agility, Flexibility and Efficiency

Although considered part of Integrated Facilities Management, there is an increasing trend toward separating scientific services from other facilities services. The transition is not at the expense of integration of services, but does mean that additional emphasis is placed on the importance of science. As part of the “Sodexo 2016 Workplace Trends Report,” this piece addresses that FM is often outsourced. This shift has a direct impact on FM service providers, who must either develop offers to meet the needs of this position change or maintain the stance that science is merely an extension or an integral part of FM.
